Hey. I word at a school and we have problems with the
printers here.

Basically the problem is that I added a network printer (connected to a
computer, not actually on the network) using a command in cmd. When you
want to print, the document is sent to the printer, but it wont
actually print until the computer is restarted.

Here is some more about the problem:
- Problem is with the Lexmark X5150. Its an all in one printer.
- Printer is connected to a local machine.
- Command used to add the printer:
rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /ga /c\\targetComputerName
/n\\printServerName\printerShareName
- A document from another computer (that is, when you're trying to
print from a computer that isnt the machine to which the printer is
connected to) will only print after the local machine to which the
printer is connected is restarted.
- The other computers see the printer and send to it (so the printer is
successfully added at logon). The local machine then sends it to the
printer. When you look at the status of the document it actually says
'printing', but nothing ever comes out.
- Documents sent to print on the machine to which the printer is
connected print fine.

The following is a list of things I have done to try and fix the
printer:
- Formatted the machine to which the printer is connected
- Updated the drivers on the machine to which the printer is connected
- Renamed the share name of the printer

Any suggestions?
