Im running win XP tablet edition and have recently had trouble opening up any
standard file. Everytime i try i am prompted to the "open with" list of
programs in order, in order to do so. Win Explorer isnt even on the list, i
browse and choose it. Also the option under the list (always use the selected
program to open this kind of file) is shaded out and uncheckable.
To make matters more clear to you (and more confusing to me) if i
right-click once on top of a file i have a list of the typical command
options (open , copy , paste ,ect) i have 2 different "open" commands
available. one of then is bolded , which i guess means its the default
command. This one does not work. Its just as if i double click and ask me
what program i want to use. However, the other "open" command does work, as
does the "explore" in opening the folder.
If anyone could shed some insight as to how i may remedy this troublesome
and albeit, irritating little quirk i would be o so grateful. Thank-you for
your time.
