Perhaps this should go to an HP NewsGroup - is there such a thing?

I'm trying to help a friend who has visual problems. He just got a WinXP
computer (he had Win98 before). He has an old HP printer/scanner/copier
combo. When he first tried to hook it up to the XP an HP tech person on the
phone said it wouldn't work with XP. But he kept trying on his own and
finally got it installed and working. However, now it prints in reverse
order, i.e pages 3-2-1 rather than 1-2-3 as it did with his Win98 printer.
I have an HP printer (not a combo) myself that gives the option of reversing
that order, but he said he didn't have to choose an option previously to
print 1-2-3. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or other NewsGroup where
I can find help for him?

Joy, go to www.hp.com and you can type in the make a model number of
the combo and see if they have a
new XP driver for it. Also, you can check for any info.

I don't have an HP printer any longer but I do remember their settings
included a "Collate" setting. If enabled, the pages print in reverse order
so that the document is in the correct order when you lift it out the
printed sheets. Uncheck the settings if you want to print page 1-2-3 and
then manually collate.

HP refers to the combination printer/copier/scanner as a PSC. Have the 750
version. Was told it would not work in XP with the driver CD that came with
it.. I went to HP's website, there I found the XP driver package for this
PSC, and also requested the updated printer software on CD. Of which I
received. The PSC works fine in XP.

You have to uninstall both the driver, and the other HP software related to
the copying and scanning first, before installing the new software package.
That is, if you made the mistake of installing the former software first.

The problem you mentioned seems like a user related option in the printer
properties though. Not a driver problem.

If you go the the printer properties (layout tab) there is a page order
setting that can be selected, front to back or back to front.

what ever the default setting for that printer is what you will get, but it
can always be changed.

iam having the same problem! my printer prints in reverse. it doesnt do it
when i go to wordpad or any of my other programs that i try to print from. it
only does it when i try to print something from the internet! which is weard!
can somebody please help me with this? i even downloaded the latest harddrive
and still does it?

Denise - Next time you have a problem, don't hijack someone else's
thread even if you think the issues are similar. Make your own post so
both posters can get help. If you are having difficulties printing with
IE, try this:

Start>Run regedit [enter]

Look for this key:

User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
Value Name: Use StyleSheets
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)

Find the value named "Use StyleSheets" and either delete it, or set it
to equal "Yes".

To hijack someone else's thread means to add your own question onto an
existing thread, which is what you did. I did choose my words
carefully; you need to learn about Usenet, using a newsreader, and

You need to learn some etiquette, and have you heard of the saying about
not biting the hand that feeds you? Malke was trying to help you . You
did hijack a thread ... which you shouldn't do. There may be few if any
willing to assist you now with your attitude.
