How can I remove GP settings?

I have a clients machine that has a bunch of GP's on it. I need to know how
to strip out or disable any settings that may have been made to this
machine and set everything back to default.

For instance, I have verified that the firewall service is running but the
firewall is set to off and I can't turn it on. This is a single home
machine.

Thanx, David.

Perhaps this will help:

Reset Security Settings Back to the Defaults -

look for the file registry.pol under C:\WINNT\system32\GroupPolicy\Machine
note that Grouppolicy is a hiden folder

Then delete the file
At next restart default setting will be taken
