In my Start->Program menu, many application shortcuts including MSDOS prompt
disappeared. The applications are still there, and they can be executed by
double clicking the icon in the Windows explorer. Which system files contain
the information about the shortcut in Start->Program menu? How to fix it?
Thanx

The Start Menu consists of the folders C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL
USERS\START MENU and C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU.

Right-click on the Start button and choose "Explore All Users". Now you
will be able to work with the Start menus for all the user accounts on
the system. Right-click and drag shortcuts to where you want them,
choosing "Copy". If a shortcut is missing, find the executable and
create a shortcut to the Start menu where you want it.
