This is my first time here. I tried to ask a new question but the choice of
discussion groups threw me off and this one is sort of relevant.
The MSFT Beta AntiSpyware icon is on my desktop, in the start menu and in
the system tray. Since I run it on demand, I would like it OUT of my system
tray.
Right clicking shows only the Shutdown option which I am not sure about -
I don't want to shut the program down, just want to remove the icon.

Do it through the program options which is where you should look for
this type issue for any program if it's not offered as a choice from the
icon itself. Open AntiSpyware by double clicking the icon, Options (on
the menu line) | Settings | General | put a tic mark in Hide ...

Also a few tips. Don't hijack another thread. Post a new one. You are
using the web interface to access this group, but that is slow and hard
to use. Better to use a newsreader. XP has one built in, Outlook
Express. There are other free and pay ones available too depending on
