When you view all your music in the folder, there's a title under each icon.
You can cut and paste onto a completely new sheet, or just toggle back and
forth.
That's what I had to do to keep track of the items on my MP-3. It's a
little tedious, but worth it in the long run.

There's another way but you'll need Outlook and it works pretty good. Let
me know if you have Outlook (not outlook express) and I'll type out the
instructions for you.

It's also worth looking at Printfolders http://pfolders.stratopoint.com/
which converts directly to a text file. I wouldn't be without it.

John,
I checked out that product. Very nice. I only have one problem. When I
import the text file into say, excel, the data is a little scrambled which
is my fault. There are too many files that have spaces in the names and
that's what I'm using to separate the information into the spreadsheet. If
I could choose the "\" it would work a little better. I haven't tried
saving to an html in the first place which maybe I'll try.

Do you or anybody know if there's there a utility that replaces spaces (in
the file names) with an underscore character for this purpose. (I don't
want dashes).

Thanks if you can help.

John,
I tried using the html format ... works just great ... no issues. What a
great lead. Thanks so much.
It even played a powerpoint files when I clicked the link (inside of IE, of
course). Impressive. Thanks again.
I can see many uses for this utility.
