I have an application that communicates via DCOM from one Japanese XP
Pro machine to another Japanese XP Pro machine.
I’m not talking about an English version of XP Pro with language
settings set to Japanese, but a fully installed version of Japanese XP
Pro.
Here’s the problem, The application doesn’t work from Japanese XP to
Japanese XP, but work just fine from Japanese 2000 to Japanese XP. In
addition, the application works fine with any combination of English,
French, German and Spanish operating systems whether they be 2000 or
XP.
I’m sure the DCOM settings I have are correct as I’m using the same
settings with all the machines.
I was wondering if anyone knew about this issue.
BTW: Did some troubleshooting and the failure to connect is due to a
CoCreateInstanceEx error of 0x80070005 which is a security error.
Thing is, the EXACT same DCOM setting work on my English Windows XP
installation just fine, it only fails when I use it on a Japanese XP
installation.
