Yes, I run MS antispyware. As I said, I've fixed the remaining problem.
I 've no idea what '127.0.0.1 Microsoft.com' does in the hosts file,
but I deleted all the ones that had 127.0.0.1 and that fixed the
lot....
Tried Netstat, -b and /? all just flash up a box for 1/10 second and
then it's gone.

Run the netstat command in a cmd prompt window (Start, Run, type in CMD
and press enter).

127.0.0.1 is the local loopback address.

The Hosts file should have:

127.0.0.1 localhost

Or you may not be able to open local html pages, among other things, so
you'll want to put that entry back the hosts file.

The other entries were put there by malware to prevent you from being
able to connect to those sites associated with localhost address.
