"Send To" freezes for 13+ seconds when moused over

My "Send To" menu is freezing whenever I mouse over it, regardless of what
file I click this on. The harddrive light becomes lit solid for a full 13 or
more seconds and the "Send To" menu section remains lit until eventually the
actual menu appears and then behaves normally.

I've tried degraging, scandisk, cleaning out the registry, and even cleaning
out the "send to" menu itself. None of these help the problem. Any ideas?

One of the entries in the menu is causing the hang. You can delete all of
them and then add them one at a time to find the culprit, or.........
Open below URL (website), click "S" and scroll down to Send to:

A couple of ideas:
1) Turn off Indexing Services - right click the C drive and select
Properties. Uncheck the box next to Indexing and also check the box on the
popup that asks if you want to turn off indexing on subfolders. Indexing
Services is unnecessary. It creates a database for faster file searching but
often cause a degrade in system performance.

2) Do you have packet writing software installed? If so disable it from
running at Start-up.

3) You may wish to run a full scan for spyware and other parasites as they
are known to cause all types of performance problems.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried #1 and saw no change. Good idea though. What do you mean "packet
writing software" for tip #2?

And for #3, what do you recommend I scan with? I did a scan with adaware a
while ago (to fix this problem) and I use AVG to scan for viruses and nothing
has been found.
