I have the same problem that Phil has... I disabled vgasave like an idiot and
now i only have a black screen! I have tried using the RC and the command
below, but it did NOT work :-(
Any other ideas?
I would really hate to reformat

Here's a post that someone else wrote elsewhere, i'll try this tonight. hope
this works....

"After searching thru the multitude of different solutions that were
offered, none worked. I finally figured out my problem on my own: In
the Device Manager snap-in, when I clicked on "Show Hidden Devices"
under Non-Plug and Play Drivers I found that the "VgaSave" (VGA Display
Controller) driver had somehow been switched to Manual instead of
System. This fixed the problem."
