Somehow I have lost my C: drive..computer boots fine, XP with SP2 runs
fine...reviewing "setup" has boot sequence A: then CD then C:
drive...BUT..Windows Explorer doesn't see the "C:" drive and even if I go to
a Command Prompt, I cannot change to C: drive..it says it can't find the
target drive...
Seems to have happened around time of installing AdAware Personal
edition..Tried to System Restore back a few days, but C: drive still GONE...
HELLLLP!!!!> Where did it go?? ...Is my hard drive failing>>> Did my
partition become corrupt???

Maybe your drive letters have changed! What do you
see when you type this at the Command Prompt:

set system

Solved...I realized that when I had a device conflict that prevented me from
accessing my office network, I disabled many of the devices during
troubleshooting...I had inadvertently disabled the SCSI interface/driver for
my hard drive that was the "Boot" C: drive..once re-enable...voila'...C: and
other directories returned...interestingly, the computer would still "boot
up" even when C: was disabled...must have something to do with all of my XP
files being on the D: drive.

Thanks for your help,

Mike
