[My View]

In the past 24 hours (after installing some standard software) I have lost
the Windows-E shortcut to open Windows Explorer.

Any way of getting it back?

Try re-installing the keyboard software.

[My View]

Just solved it.
I had installed a copy of Extensis Portfolio 7 (image library etc).
I restored to a pint immediately prior to the installation and now the
Windows-E works again.
Won't be re-installing that program again.
