When one of my computers boots up it always automatically starts Explorer and
the other one does not. How do I turn off the automatic start of Explorer?

Hi,
What folder does it open to? There are a couple of known issues, and the
folder it opens to can often define which one it is.

Start>Run and type in: control folders>ok.
Goto View/Restore previous folder windows at logon. If it's checked then
uncheck it>ok/apply.
Otherwise you will have to use the process of elimination via
msconfig/startup
start>Run>msconfig>ok

It trys to open my default home page. I just don't want it to open explorer
on boot up. Thanks

Hi,
Start/run msconfig, see anything on the startup tab that corresponds? It'd
be Internet Explorer, not Windows Explorer.

Can regedit be run from Start | Run and does ctrl-alt-del bring up the
task manager? If both those are disabled this suggests a virus infection.
