I have a small wireless network with one desktop PC and one laptop. Both are
Dell machines and run XP SP 2, MS Office 2003 with all updates. The shared
printer is a Lexmark X6170.
When I print from the desktop all is well; when I print from the laptop I
have wavy lines (e.g. a line in a table prints wavy). (If I print the same
file on the desktop it is O.K.)
The only thing I notice is that if I look at print properties on the print
driver on each machine, there is a difference in the "advanced" tab that
shows the "print processor". The one on the desktop shaows a specific X6170
Print Processor; the one on the laptop shows something that looks more
generic.
The only thing I can think of doing is re-installing the printer driver on
the laptop; but I am confused - surely I am using the one on the desktop (to
whcih the printer itself is connected).
Any assistance appreciated.
