System File Folder Opens When I Log in

Everytime I log into XP, a System Folder will immediately open up. I can
close it and all other functions work okay. I searched the data base for
similar problems and found references to a System32 issue that appeared
similar to my problem. I inspected the registary locations for the fixes
recommend in those threads and was not successful in correcting my problem.
It does not seem to affect anything and is just a nauance. I would like to
get it to stop. The folder is path is C:windows/system Nothing too exotic
about that. Anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Is it C:\Windows\system or C:\Windows\system32?

In addition:
This is a known issue for owners of an SB Audigy 2 sound card. Re-enable
the item in MSConfig.
Then see www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm, Line 260, Left column for a
small utility that will correct this for you. The problem is caused by a
leading space before the /L:ENG. This causes the problem, the script
corrects it.
If this is not the case, see:

Added checkpoints:
Verify that all the values in these keys do not contain any incorrect,
incomplete, or null entries (such as ""). Also make sure that all entries
that have spaces are included within quotes. These values can be checked
here: Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

C:\Windows\system
I have tried looking at the registery. I didn't find any spaces. I might
have overlooks some......this makes me nuts....

Thanks to everyone who responded to this. The problem I had was in the
registery. It took me some looking but I found it in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
The default setting was the file path that was opening up. I removed it and
put the word "Default" in its place. I saw that in other entries in other
places so I took a guess that it might fix it. I haven't had any issues
because of this. We'll see how it goes......
