Hi,
What program are you using that will not open the image file?

Hi. It is a work related program that was not intended to be set as the
program in which images would open. I set it as the program in which to open
images by accident. I just want to open images in the same program that they
opened before I made that accidental change.

Start the program that you know _can_ open the file. eg Start -> All
programs etc. Then when the program is running go File -> Open -> navigate
to the file and click OK.
It would help if you could tell us the file type that is causing the
problem?. If you put the pointer over the file but don't click it you should
see a box with more info in it about the file.
download and run this file.
http://orbita.starmedia.com/~rosoft/pvu32112.exe
it creates a little program that attaches to WinExplorer. you can
right click any image file and it will immediately give you a
thumbnail and other options; file type conversion, zoom, print....
this is very fast compared to full size programs that need to load
when you click the images.
good luck

I just figured it out. It took some looking around but I was able to modify
the setting which controls which program the images open in. Thanks for the
efforts.

You really need to give a few more details. The filetype for a start, and
what you are trying to open it with could be useful.

This is for anyone who does not know. It applies to all file types.
Right click on the file's icon.
Select properties.
Select general tab.
Click opens with "change".
Select a program.
Check the box at bottom if you want the same action for all files of this
type.
