Can I install XP pro with a XP Home cd key?
Is it a easy way to get a XP pro key with a XP home key?

Buy the upgrade CD. It doesn't ask for the key, it will need the Home CD
during install.

No. Product Keys are bound to the specific type and language of
CD/license (OEM, Volume, retail, full, or Upgrade) with which they are
purchased. For example, a WinXP Home OEM Product Key won't work for any
retail version of WinXP Home, or for any version of WinXP Pro, and vice
versa. An upgrade's Product Key cannot be used with a full version CD,
and vice versa. An OEM Product Key will not work to install a retail
product. An Italian Product Key will not work with an English CD.
Bottom line: Product Keys and CD types cannot be mixed & matched.

You get the key when you buy the product.
If you are asking this question where is the XP Professional key for the one
you have ?

That's not correct. A key is required for all versions: Full,
Upgrade, or OEM.

Only if a previous qualifying version is not installed (i. e.
you're doing a clean installation), and the Home version is what
you're using to qualify. But it doesn't have to be an XP Home CD;
Windows 95, 98, Me or 2000 will also work.
However none of this has anything to do with the need for a key,
which still exists.

I should clarify that when I say "OEM," I mean a generic OEM
version. Some pre-installed OEM versions are BIOS-locked to the
computer and don't require keys to install.

Incorrect. The upgrade version asks for a key.

Plato;
I almost said the same thing.
I think Alan just worded his answer poorly.
I think what was meant is the upgrade process asks for the previous CD and
does not care for the key for the previous OS.
Of course as you suggest an upgrade key is needed when the upgrade is
installed.

That's what I had meant- the old key is not needed.

As an aside, after a few dozen XP2 Retail Box Upgrade Disk installs to
fresh drives/partitions, it sort of reminds me of when 98SE came out.
Sort of refreshing.
ps Did you play with SLAX Live CD yet? Real fun.
