Hi
Is their any main file cleaner that is consdidered OK for XP?
Anybody have anything to say about Crap Cleaner? I know the name makes it
sounds a bit unprofessional but I've not heard anything bad about it.

Crap cleaner is an excellent free product and i have used it many time.
Another good one is CleanCache (www.buttuglysoftware.com). With CleanCache
you must have the Windows .NET framework installed otherwise it simply won't
work.

I have Disk Cleaner set to run quiet at startup. Runs for 10 seconds or so
and exits. I also like the fact that, after you set it up, it cleans all
the following with one click (and/or automatically at boot). Makes XP's
Disk Cleanup look like a piker. XP's Disk Cleanup will *not* clean
Content.IE5.
Disk Cleaner will Clean:
Temporary Internet Files {Including the contents of the Content.IE5 folder}
Internet Cookies
Internet History
System Temporary Folder
Recent Documents
Run... Dialog List
Find Document List
Find Computer List
URLs in IE Address Bar
URLs in Shell Address Bar
Media Player Recent URLs
WinZip Recent Files
WinZip Extract To Folders
Paint Recent Files
WordPad Recent Files
Cleans Recycle Bin (what else?)
Opera Cache
Opera Cookies
Opera History
Opera Visited links
Opera Download History and Download folder
Firefox Cache
Firefox Cookies
Firefox History

Disk Cleaner doesn't clean the Index.dat files though. Both CCleaner and
CleanCache do.

MRU-Blaster & Index.dat Suite both have the ability to delete index.dat
files. And you do not need Windows .NET framework either. :-)
===
Do not delete the index.dat file from >>
C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\OfflineCache
this will cause msinfo32.exe to work incorrectly.
Index.dat Suite
[[Index.dat Suite is a rather unique program that allows you not only to
delete the index.dat files, temporary internet files, temp files, cookies
and history, but it also allows you to view the index.dat files on your
system.]]

MRU-Blaster
Protect your privacy - find and remove over 30,000 MRU lists!
With additional plug-ins that allow you to clean out your Temporary Internet
Files and Cookies, MRU-Blaster enhances the protection of your privacy!
