Hi,
Sometimes this indicates corruption of the hiberfil.sys file. Restart the
system and delete the existing information when prompted. After the system
is booted, go into Power Management in the Control Panel, disable
hibernation. Reboot, then delete hiberfil.sys - it will be a hidden file on
the root of the boot drive (usually C:\). Then reenable the hibernation
feature.

Are you attached to broadband modem directly? Could be the that the
world the PC is connected to has changed. I know my ISP has only 24 hour
lease set on my connection.

Hi,
Go to the Control Panel/Folder Options, and on the View tab, set the options
so you can see hidden and system files. Specifically:
Enable (check) "Display the contents of system folders"
Enable (check) "Show hidden files and folders"
Disable (uncheck): "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)"
I also recommend that you disable (uncheck) "hide extensions for known file
types".
