When I open a text file my A:\ drive is accessed even though the file is
stored locally on my C:\ drive. Not to sure why this happening, but it is a
bit annoying now since it slows down the launch process for the text file.
Anyone have any ideas how to correct this.

Check the MRU lists for if there is an entry for A:\ here.
