No Way I Can Back Up

I'm running XP Home. I'd like to back up my Documents folder, but I can't.
There is no backup option on my systems menu.
A copy won't work, because it stops when it finds NTUSER in use.
I selected the 3 NTUSER files, then inverted the selection and copied, but
then Bill found some Other file in use, so aborted the copy.
I logged on as a different user, but then it won't let me copy the Document
folder for the original user I want to save.
And they ask why people don't back up!
Is there a way to do it?

You need to install backup in xp home, the installation files are on the xp
home cd,open cd,tools, locate backup and install.Youre actually better off
useing
the file transfer wizard, open wizard, set as old computer, select documents and
settings for it to save, save the data in a new folder you created, once data
is
completed,move data to cd.

First of all, what you really want to back up is your *data*, not the
whole Documents and Settings folder. Most people keep their data in My
Documents. Go to My Documents and Select All (assuming you *want* to
save all). Then burn to cd-r with whatever burning program you have,
either the built-in cd burner that comes with XP or a third-party
burning program.

If this does not cover what you are trying to do, please post back with
a clearer description of your goal.

Ntbackup is not installed by default in XP Home but it is on the
installation CD in the \MSFT\ValueADD\Ntbackup folder as ntbackup.msi.
Double click on the *.msi file to install.

Some OEMs do not include ntbackup on the CD. If that is the case for
you it can be downloaded from here:
http://www.onecomputerguy.com/windowsxp_tips.htm#backup_home

People don't backup from laziness, a Pollyanna belief that nothing will
go wrong or ignorance. There is nothing keeping someone from backing
up. Aside from ntbackup there is a plethora of backup solutions
available including drive imaging programs and other traditional backup
solutions.
