There are several registry keys that I am attenpting to delete but am unable
to. When I try I get error opening the key. The program these are related
to were installed using an account that was later removed from the Admin
group. I'm not sure if that caused this problem.

Either you don't have sufficient rights or the program that uses those keys is loaded and is
protecting them.

I'm on as admin (even tried it in single-user mode) and both programs have
been un-installed.

Had something similar once.

The way I solved it was to export the whole registry using Erunt

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/erunt.html

Then reimport the whole registry back again

Bizarre but it worked.

Right-click on the key you want to delete and change the ownership to
whatever account you are in and make sure it is not Read Only. Then you
should be able to delete it.

Wes,

All of the pages are missing one vital piece of info :

" Note
To open Registry Editor, click Start, click Run, type , and then click
OK. "

regedit is missing after " type ". Maybe this is a secret ? ;)
