Every time I attempt to use the search function the requested page is
briefly (5 seconds) displayed and then disappears. I tried to do a system
restore and every (maybe 15 times) it gives me a message that it has
encountered an error and needs to close. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

don't work
and then to System Restore problems.

Don't use the search function - it is crippled and inefficient. Look for
(free) Ransack.
