I think you may be right since thumbnails indeed are turned on. But
how do I change that? I can make the change using 'VIEW' tab, but it
doesn't take because Windows Explorer crashes. Is there somewhere
that one can make such a change and have it be 'universal' (ie apply
across the board)?
