Windows XP Pro for Embedded Systems
Hi,
can anyone tell me the difference between "Windows XP Embedded" and "Windows
XP Pro for Embedded Systems"?

You're probably thinking of Windows XP with Embedded restrictions. Meaning
you deploy XP Pro but it has licensing restrictions like XPe. Contact your
distributor for details on how you can leverage this.

Hi,
XP embedded needs Target Designer to build your own OS image.XP Pro for
embedded needs OPK(OEM Preinstallation Kit) to install your image. That
doesn't need any development tool like TD and any build effort.
So its installation method is easier than XPe.But its footprint is
huger and more expensive than XPe.Besides,Microsoft has some
limitations detailed in his license agreement.I suggest you to contact
your distributor for more details.
Thanks.

Hello all,
I am new to XP embedded, I am not building an OS image but writing
application to run on XP embedded. I posted my questions here because I
couldn't create new question on the newsgroup page.
1) What development tool should I use for application on XPe, EVC30 or
anything else?
2)Can I use normal C/C++/MFC/Win32 APIs to write my application for XPe?
3)Does the XPe have normal configuration for 802.1X security protocols ( EAP
protocols)?
Thanks a lot.
