Move you cursor to the bottom of the page until you see a two arrow. From
the hold the ;eft button down and drag up. After you do this right click on
the Start button and left click Properties. On the Taskbar tab you'll see an
option to Lock the Taskbar.

When you say you were clicking on the task bar, i'm assuming you dragged it
out of view. If you move your mouse to the very bottom of the screen, does
your mouse cursor change from the normal arrow to a different arrow (one with
the head of the arrow pointing straight up?) If so, just left click and drag
and your start menu should appear.

If this isn't the case, then try hitting the windows key (between the left
ctrl and alt keys on your keyboard). Does the usual start menu pop up now?
If so, right click on it near the bottom (not on any icons). Choose
properties. Then when the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" windo comes
up, click on the taskbar tab. Check to see that everythign here looks ok (I
have everything checked except "AutoHide...") You can customize this how you
want. If you have autohide, then your "start bar" will disapear until you
drag the mouse to the bottom of the screen.

Hope this helps,
Jason
