The pictures in "My Pictures Slideshow" screensaver 'crystallize'.

The pictures in "My Pictures Slideshow" screensaver seem to 'crystallize'
while they are appearing. The picture comes up and then white pixels start
appearing and several of the pieces of the picture start being taken over by
the white pixels. It's almost as if the picture is crystallizing. Can
anyone think of what could be causing this problem and what to do about it?
Thanks...

Hi,

Sounds like this is one of the effects that are used between picture transitions. Navigate to the
screensaver tab of display properties and click on 'settings' of the screensaver. You can disable
the effects that are used between the transition of the pictures.

The 'crystallizing' issue just starting. It was transitioning just fine
before. But the past few days it has been pixelating and the picture is
disappearing pixel by pixel in random spots. What might be causing that?

I did exactly what you told me to do and it changed the way the pictures
appear but it also seemed to fix the problem. Do you know what could have
happened? Thanks so much! Diane

Well, unfortunately I noticed that it is still doing the same thing it did
before. The pictures are appearing and small bits and pieces of the photos
are missing. Several clumped and separated squares are missing from the
photos. Can you think of what could be causing this and what else I can try
to fix it? Thanks, Diane

The "crystallising" effect that you described is a trasition effect and is designed to be that way.
You just switched it off and hence your problem is fixed.

I've looked through this thread and it may be that your video card is
dying. What hardware is involved?
