I am having problems with my add-on sound card. It was working just fine
prior to reformatting my HD. I have reinstalled the software, but the only
sound is coming from the sound card attached to the motherboard. Any
suggestions?

Enter your PCs BIOS Setup utility (reboot and it should tell you how) and
disable the onboard sound. Then use device manager to delete the drivers for
the onboard sound card and make sure the new one is properly installed/uses
the correct drivers/set as default.
