Explorer uses wrong program to open .wav files

I have set up Windows Explorer to use CoolEdit as the default program
to open .wav files, but when I double-click a .wav file in one of my
directories, Explorer launches "Sound Recorder" to play the sound. How
can I correct this wierd behavior?
