I am aware there are utilities to find Windows XP Home's key for
instillation. What I want to due is view the code with reedit in the
registry. I seem to remember it may be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. I can't
remember the rest. I would appreciate any help with the instructions.

Hi,

In WindowsXP it doesn't exist in the registry in plain language code, which
is the reason that utilities like magicjellybean are recommended.

Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Why do you find it "necessary" to view it in the registry using Regedit?

Any of the utilities listed will give you the Key, and will give you much
more valuable information about your hardware and software.

FYI, Everest and Aida are basically the same program, Everest being
the newer version. IIRC, Lavalys bought Aida and contracted with its
developer to do additional work. Everest Home is free and in my
tests it could do everything Aida could do.
