What gives you the right to advertise?

I wouldn't say he's advertising. Adaware SE is a program many of us use
and recommend to others in numerous threads here. It is a recent update
- yesterday it came out I believe. He's just letting folks know about
the new version.

I'm waiting. Some people have had problems with the new build.

Do you know what kinds of problems. I just installed it and ran once.
No issues but it's early.

Wasn't an advert - as Rock said just a heads up for everyone who
uses AdAware as part of their Spyware solution. I've loaded it on
XP and all my VPC's from 98 up through 2000. I haven't noticed
any performance issues, just the slightly different appearance of the
GUI. It does seem like the detected items listing has changed from
Version 1.05.

It seemed to run a tad faster on my system too, but I haven't quantified
that.

When I first installed my current adaware se personal it froze on me
and then a subsequent update seemed to fix it. Maybe the same will
occur here. Should I wait to upgrade to 1.06?

I tried the new version with no problem, HOWEVER, in
snooping their site (Lavasoft), I found something I had
not realized. Apparently, with the free version, while it
does scan the system, it only scans the registry for the
currently logged in user NOT any other users of the system.
Their "Plus" ($) version says it will scan the registry entries for
all users, not just the current user. I started a thread over
in the microsoft.public.windowsxp.security_admin group
with the title of "ad-aware and spyware question" where
I was looking for more information on this topic. Malke
(Elephant Boy Computers) says my suspicion was correct
and I need to log in as each user on the system to do a scan
and get things. Well, I *thought* I was scanning everything!!

I don't mind paying for a good product that works! Basically what it
comes down to is paying for less aggravation, lol!!! :-)
