How can I start my computer without having Yahoo messenger loading also?

Open Yahoo Messenger. Messenger/Preferences/General tab, untick the obvious.

First step should be to check in the options for the program you don't
want to start and see if there is a setting to tell it not to run at
startup. The next step is to remove any entries you don't want from the
two startup folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

For anything else uncheck their entries in the startup tab of msconfig:
Start | Run | Msconfig | Ok

Which is exactly what I posted.

It helps a poster to see more than one answer even if they are the same. It
reinforces the idea that those answers may even be correct. ;-)

And what's your point? I don't always look at what others post which is
the case here. And besides now that I see your post I gave the OP a bit
more information for future use and for anyone else that might read the
thread.
