Application installation errors

I have recently acquired a thin-client using XPe and have no experience with
these devices. After installation of one of my applications Internet Explorer
and the MMCs cease to run. Attempting to launch an MMC (Event Viewer,
computer Mgmt, etc) results in an error msg indicating "MMC installed
incorrectly or portion of the registry is corrupt. Register mmcndmgr.dll".
Attempting to register the mmcndmgr.dll results in an error indicating
"LoadLibrary (mmcndmgr.dll) Failed Specified procedure could not be found". I
have identified the dll's which have been changed during the installation of
this application but can't seem to hit on which are causing my problems.
thanks for any assitance.

It sounds as though the maker of that particular thin-client device didn't
include some of the MMC support you want. Contact your vendor to give them
your use scenario to see if they want to update their image to accommodate
your needs.

Do you mean that it is your application that breaks IE and MMC?

Did MMC or IE work on original manifacturer image provided?
If not, you will probably have more lack contacting the manufacturer directly.
Otherwise you would need to either fix the issue by adding missing files/reg.entries, or develop your own image for the devices.
Neither is an easy task.

Thanks for the response. Yes, that is correct...the installation of the
application broke MMC and IE. Both work fine prior to the install.

Gordon,
Thanks for the reply. These features (MMC & IE) both work fine prior to the
installation of my application. I have contacted the hardware vendor. they
have indicated they have no way to 'repair' their image or than to re-flash
the complete image. Obviously this is not a solution for me. thanks again.
