Missing Network connectoid on Docking station bootup

I have been having a problem for a while now, when I bootup my laptop in my
docking station it does not have a connectoid for LAN and I cannot connect to
anything. I have replaced the port replicator and it still took 6 bootups
this morning to get in. Has anyone ever seen this happen. I am not sure if it
is a XP issue or a dell hardware issue, I am just hoping someone has come
acroos this problem.

From other posts in this group, it is apparently a Dell issue. Contact
their tech support.

Good call Malke, but if it is a Dell then the OP could save some
telephone hold time and try this (which I got from Dell tech support and
it's worked every time (about 10 times so far) for me for this exact
same problem):

Shutdown, undock the laptop and startup. Right click My Computer,
Properties, Hardware tab, Hardware Profiles button, select Docked
profile and delete it. Shutdown, dock the laptop and startup. It will
rebuild a fresh docked hardware profile automatically.

Might also work for other brands but not ever having this problem with
any other brands I can't say for sure.

Ooh, thanks Steve! My hero! I've made a note of the solution and I
really appreciate the info.

Cheers,

You're welcome, Malke.

I'm no hero, but thanks for the very nice compliment.
