Hi
I hope somebody can please help. After carrying out a clean install of
windows I have encountered serious problems. Firstly, the back up file I made
using Windows XPs back up facility is not letting me restore my files. It
says it is restoring my back up file but when it has finished none of my
files or settings are there. Secondly I have no sound now, and when I try to
play music etc a message tells me I have no sound card installed! Also my
monitor settings have gone crazy and it won,t let me install the correct
drivers. When I go to the place where I should be able to update the drivers
there is no option to do so. Also printer is plug and play supposedly, but
can't install it as it didnt come with a software cd and the installation
wizard asks for one.. Please help

Hi
Me again. I have now managed to install the printer and the monitor drivers,
but I'm still getting no sound as if the computer does not recognise my
soundcard. Also the backup file is still not working. Thanks in advance for
your help

If your sound card/computer is newer than the Windows XP operating system
the necessary drivers may not be included with the O/S. Get them from the
sound card manufacturers website.
