Dos application

We have a Dos application running on our WindowsXP pro workstations, after we
upgraded de Video drivers on a Dell system from Windows Update, the
application still runs ok, but after the user leaves the computer and comes
back the screen is allways black and we cannot get back to the desktop, we
have to reboot every time. We don't have these problems on other similar
systems. We uninstalled the video drivers and reinstalled the original one,
but the problem continues.

Does enyone have anyidea what is causing this behavior?

Might want to disable the screensaver to see if that is what causes the
issue.

As a side note don't get driver updates from windows update. Get them
only from the device manufacturer, and then only if there is a need for
it, such as it fixes a current problem or it has an essential feature
you must have. If it's not broken, don't fix it.

If you are in DOS and in full screen the if you have the screensaver set to so many minutes then this is a normal behavior. The screen save is not able to open in a DOS environment but it sure tries and the consequence is a dead black window. Disable your screensaver to stop this issue
