Suddenly i get that message when to execute XX.exe files (on some programs,
some not).

Just reloaded system from scratch -- total RAM = 1GB, virtual is 2GB.

What can cause this??

Using WIndows XP SP1 with all patches!!

Corrupted files. It may not be the exe file but a dll file. It may be
corrupted virus as well.
