Odd searching error

Hi there,

This one has been irritating me, so I was hoping someone here could help...

I have a user who has a problem searching files on her PC. She is using the
"a word or phrase WITHIN the file" option of XP searching and it has stopped
giving any results. Other users on different machines can perform this search
no problem.

The filetypes being searched on are .txt and .err (the .err I believe is a
file generated by our in-house software, it is assigned to always open in
Notepad) and neither yeild results.

What could be different on this machine that stop my user getting results?

Try using the free search tool Agent Ransack:

Or see this MS KB article:
Using the "A word or phrase in the file" search criterion may not work
