I just installed Win XP, just wonder why the XP does not ask me to type in
password.
How do I set a password ?

Try Start | Control Panel | User Account. Select your username and hit reset
password.

(*)

You've just to set it in Start\(Settings)\Control Panel\User Accounts
Double click your account Set password (type in password)

[ If you want "better" security you can set initial screen as in W2000
(not to show all the user defined in your computer and request
the use of CTRL-ALT-CANC)
by selecting Control Panel\User Accounts\ Set access options
and disable the first option "Use initial screen"]

(*) I'm sorry but my Win XP language is not English so I manage
translate
back the key terms; however if they're not the same they have to be
very
close, at least in the meaning.
I just wanted to help.
