What windows-based programs depend on Windows Script Host (wscript.exe
and cscript.exe) to run?

Thanks,

I don't think there are. They are script interpreters.

Thanks to you and David...

I thought so, but just wanted to be sure if something had changed since
Win9x days.

You may remember that in those some people advocated renaming those two
files to keep unauthorized virus scripts from running. This was before
programs like Wormguard, for example, which will prevent unauthorized
scripts from executing.

If you have a good firewall, an anti-executable program, and a
script-prevent program, you don't need much else.
