IIS on XP Home

I understand that IIS does not ’officially’ run on XP Home. But there
are a number of sites documenting ways of running it, e.g.
http://www.xfriday.com/xp_home_iis_problem.asp

Questions:
(a) has anyone done this?
(b) Does interdev 6.0 run as well

Thanks!

Before InterDev will run properly on IIS, depending on options selected, you
may need the MSJVM, which has been discontinued and no longer supported.
You may be able to scrounge the net and find it, but trusting it as
authentic would be another story.

Hi S.F.A.
Are you saying that InterDev may not run at all on any XP? I
installed it on an early version of XP a while back and it did not
run, but that was two years ago. Is that still the issue? I don’t
think you need MSJVM, since InterDev seems to be a native app, and not
reliant on Java Virtual Machine.

XP Home hasn't changed all that much. The Service Packs haven't
alterted the fact that a lot of development stuff, like InterDev and
IIS, wont' work on it.

Ok, does InterDev 6.0 run on XP Professional, or do I need to keep my
old computer running Win2K around, just to do IIS and InterDev.

Running Interdev on XP - either Home or Professional - should not be a
problem. Heck, it runs on Win98!
