I have a user that is running Windows XP & It is receiving an valid IP
address. However when i attempt to add it to the domain, it doesn't ask me
for a user/password that is authorized to add it to the doman, it just
attemps on it's own and comes back with , domain can't be contacted. any
ideas??

Is the Windows XP O/S Home Edition or Professional?
Only Windows XP Professional can join a Domain.
