Streaming video 'sticks' in WMP

I have a WinXP Pro machine on a very fast broadband connection. I find that
streaming video 'sticks' every few seconds in Windows Media Player. This
problem doesn't arise on other machines using the same broadband connection.

Any advice would be appreciated.
