I had an old user on my computer which i deleted using the proper method
(start, control panel, users etc. But it deleted the user but the folder is
still there. It has a just one hidden folder in it with a file. You cannot
move it, rename it or delete it. Any ideas?

You may have to seize ownership of the folder before you
can delete it. Click Start /Help, then type owership to
see how it's done.

Hi,

Logon as administrator, then try deleting it. To access the default
administrator account:

In WinXP Pro, hit ctrl+alt+delete twice at the logon screen and type it in.

In WinXP Home, you must restart and enter Safe mode by hitting F8 at
startup. The administrator logon will be one of the options.

Hi,

thanks for the advice. I tired doing what you said but I still get the same
message. The file is called 2612 it is 16kb. It is under Crockett> Locaql
Settings (hidden file)> Temp> hsperfdata Crockett> 2612

When I attempt to delte it I get:

Cannto delte 2612: Access denied

Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and the file is not in use.

any other ideas?

Thank again

You may have to seize ownership of the folder before
you can delete (delte?) it. Click Start / Help, then type
"ownership" to see how it's done.
