Hi,

My computer is running so slow, when I check the process, I found that
svchost.exe takes up most of the cpu times. what is svchost.exe actually?
can I terminate it?

Hi,

Svchost.exe is a normal system process, and finding multiple instances of it
in Task Manager is quite normal. See:

You may want to check for unwanted spy/ad programs, these can help:

Hosts the services running on your computer

Better to stop individual services that you do not need running via
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services

Better to not stop any service unless you know precisely what you are doing.

It's perfectly normal to have several instances of Svchost.exe running
simultaneously.

However, if Svchost.exe is using a large portion of your CPU
cycles, it may well have been "hijacked" by a worm, Trojan, or scumware.
What results to do get from your antivirus and ant-spyware scans?
