Printer problems

I have a Dell Inspiron 4100 Notebook, with Windows XP SP2, and a HP LaserJet
1200 printer.
For some reason double-sided printing doesn't work.
Also, if I send a document to be printed twice, it will only print one.
Also, many times the printing job will stop printing after a few pages, and
then anything else I send to print - it says "document failed to print". I
have to restart to get it working again. But then I go right back to the
above problems. (However, my other computer that runs on Windows 98, doesn't
have this problem!!!!).
Please Help. Thank you!

Have you downloaded and installed the drivers/software from hp,also SP2
usually will require an update from the mfg for a printer/scanner to run.You
also need to open firewall, exceptions, add the printer and/or port.

Although checking for updated drivers is correct, Andrew E.'s advice
regarding the firewall is incorrect. Since the OP has no problem
printing single-sided documents, he has the printer set up correctly.
The double-sided printing is a function provided by the printer
drivers, which are written by HP. check on HP's website for support on
that specific printer model.
