Hiding Icons

Hello everyone, it has been SOME time since I posted here, but I've run
into a new problem , for ME at least.

I am running windows XP Home SP2.

If one RIGHT clicks on the task bar, there is an option to "Hide
inactive icons" (In the sys tray). This has always worked fine for me
on other computers, but recently I bought a new computer with the above
OS, and 1 gig of Ram 100 gig HD etc..

After installing all my software, and everything is working just
perfect, or exactly as it should, I find that the Icons in the sys tray
will NOT stay Hidden.

When I boot up the computer fist thing in the morning, the Icons are
hidden, and I have that little "<" thingy on my sys tray, and most of
the Icons are Hidden. For some reason half way through the day ALL the
icons start showing, and WON'T hide again, until the next day.

No matter HOW many reboots I do.

Is there a hack or tweak (or something?) to correct this?
Some sort of setting I can adjust?

Right click Taskbar; properties; taskbar tab. At bottom make sure there is
a check mark next to Hide inactive icons. You can also click on the
customize button and choose icons to stay hidden or to show at all times.
Hope this works for you.
