I have an empty folder for example on my desktop
and I want to delete it but I get a message that its in use.
I have to reboot in order to delete it.
is there a way to bypass this warning and get rid of the darn thing?

Thanks

Sometimes just waiting a few minutes will do the trick. Other times, you
can open Task Manager and End Task on explorer.exe. Then New Task cmd
and delete from the command line. The New Task explorer.exe.

Sorry - that last sentence should read "*then* New Task explorer.exe".
Fumble fingers.

Sure, that's easy. Ask your mentor - Carey.

Just a guess. Are you perhaps trying to delete them in the
left hand side folder view, having the *empty* folder on the
right hand side. If so, select the containing folder on the
left hand side and delete the folder from the right hand side.

Having the empty folder on the RHS counts as being open -
you might want to copy a file into it, for example.
