when I boot and it is going to load xp "the logo" it instead comes up with
"error loading operating system" and I have had it running fine for 6
months, anything I have found on the net says it will happen after a fresh
install of xp but I have had it running as I said for 6 months. HELP!! Thanks

Hi,

Boot the WinXP CD, load the Recovery Console by hitting 'r' when first
prompted. From the prompt, run "chkdsk C: /r" (without the quotes), see if
this helps.
